When a sorority prank goes horribly wrong, a group of friends choose to cover up an accidental murder. Yet months later, their secret comes back to haunt them, and soon a killer in a hooded graduation gown is on the loose.

It would be easy to dismiss this entry in the long running slasher film genre as just another teenagers in peril murder spree, and in many ways that’s exactly what it is, but with an interesting cast (and a great cameo from Carrie Fisher) and some quality, imaginative kills, this very entertaining movie still makes for a great evening’s viewing. In the wake of nasty horror endurance experiences like the recent Halloween 2 and the Saw franchise, this step back to the hey day of seventies / eighties slashers like the Friday The 13th series certainly does the genre proud. It borrows heavily from I Know What You Did Last Summer for its premise, and can be a touch predictable in places, but with main heroine Briana Evigan (or Rachael Leigh Cook look-a-like) carrying the movie with gutsy attitude, and a bevy of scantily clad teens, this never gets dull. Even the unmasking of the killer comes as a genuine surprise, with plenty of red herrings thrown in to fool you.
If you’re a fan of such movies, then seek this one out.
