I have a Nintendo Wii!!!

At first I was a bit skeptical about Nintendo’s new direction, but after the semi-failure of the Gamecube, they really had to bring something special to the party. So motion-sensitive game play was the ticket…and going by the sales figures…it’s been a rawing success, and not just the ‘fad’ many people initially labelled it.

Add to this Nintendo finally discovering the power of the ‘net and allowing their near-entire back catalogue to be downloaded, not to mention backwards compatibility with the ‘cube – and really, I wonder what made me hesitate in the first place.

More details once I’ve managed to have a play.

Games I can’t wait to play:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Super Mario Galaxy

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Super Paper Mario

UPDATE:  Well have been playing the Wii most of the evening…and who’d have guessed?  Wii Sports is fantastic fun.  I think I enjoy the boxing the most, and it really feels so unique and refreshing (and so tiring!), almost like taking part (but minus the fat lip!).  My Dad and Brother have had a go too (my brother takes to the bowling like a fish to water), and it was so funny watching the enthusiasm on my dad’s face as he knocked seven bells out of his apponent.  He even hit a Home Run in the baseball game.  The Wii is a system that brings families and friends together quite unlike anything I have seen before!

  1. That’s awesome! Glad to see you are enjoying it! I was actually inspired to bowl in real life after bowling on the Wii. (I have only bowled once before, and that was about 20 years ago.)

I’m still enjoying mine as well. Tennis is my favorite by far.

  2. Oh yea, tennis is brilliant if your into tennis yourself (like i am) then you can eventually get to pro level and master quick shots and curved shots as well as how high or low u hit it over the net.

I myself am a natural at this game i find it excellent, but i still havent found my rhythem at bowling even though i can pull off a few strikes.

Boxing is also good but tiring i was flat out and needed a drink after taking the first guy out.

Even if your not into sports that much i think its still something worth getting as its not just for sport fanatics its all about having fun at the end of the day with funny cartoon characters with big heads !!
