I began this blog to write my opinions on 'every' movie I watch, regardless of it's quality. I have no aspirations to be a professional critic and generally write as a hobby. I would say I write in my own voice and have no intention of biase, and do not aim this site at any particular audience other than movie lovers, of all tastes.

As for the gory photo, I tried to find one that hadn't been over-used on other sites, and this one stuck out.

Thanks for your very contructive comments though.

You and I chose the same "theme", so I know you have a good sense of visual-graphic taste. I dropped by to look over your posts after reading your invite in the Showcase forum. I'm not completely sure whether you would prefer me to be more kind or honest regarding your work here, so I'll just guess.

You write pretty well. Your choice of what to write about is heavily biased toward the interests of young men, but you may want it that way. It isn't necessary to add a gory photo like the one for Suspiria. The best aspects of Suspiria (as you well know) aren't the obvious gory ones, but the well-constructed sense of fear and dread Argento is able to produce from viewers. This film, Obsession, isn't of any particular importance. Why write about it, unless you want to champion it, which you haven't? Write about what counts to you, the best and the worst. Watch whatever. Writing is special.

The most important thing if you want to be a critic at a professional level (even if it's only a hobby) is to only post what is worth reading. You have a good sense for appropriate length, which is something many bloggers don't have. You already know how to write enough and not too much.

Best of luck to you!
